328 Support Services GmbH, based at Oberpfaffenhofen Airport near Munich, supervises the Dornier 328 aircraft fleet globally and is the type certificate holder for the aircraft model DORNIER 328-100/300. We are a development, manufacturing and maintenance organization renowned by international aviation authorities. Our services include the development, modification, licensing, maintenance, spare part production as well as a worldwide customer service and spare part supply for the Dornier 328 fleet. Creation and certification of modifications, repairs and the production of components and assemblies like VIP-furnishings for different aircraft models are also part of our daily business.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a

Senior Structural Engineer (m/f/d) Stress, Fatigue & Damage Tolerance

Your tasks:

  • Development and validation of innovative design solutions answering complex challenges in a multifunctional context
  • Perform static, fatigue & damage tolerance analysis of aircraft structures by means of analytical hand calculation as well as FEM methods
  • Compile of stress, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis reports for aircraft structure components and assemblies, metallic and composite to pass through certification
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations CS/JAR/FAR, relevant design principles, processes, methods and manufacturing capabilities, and design organization guidelines
  • Define, interpret and validate tests of manufactured components
  • Provide input for the creation of drawings for manufacture and support to other functions (i.e. production, quality, certification, customer support) as needed
  • Proof and assessment of production non-conformities (concessions)
  • Define maintenance and inspection program of new designed structure components as well as of damaged structure

Your profile:

  • Educated to Bachelor or Master degree level (or equivalent) in Aerospace Engineering
  • Several years of experience in engineering and manufacturing
  • High level of knowledge of aircraft strength analysis methods and basic structural design criteria of primary and secondary structures
  • Very good knowledge and experience in building complex finite element models for stress analyses (Hyperworks, NASTRAN, PATRAN)
  • Good knowledge of composite material design and strength analysis (carbon-, glass-, kevlar fibers)
  • Understanding of drawing practices, material properties, and manufacturing processes; Familiarity with CATIA V5
  • Very good knowledge of aeronautical regulations (i.e. CS/JAR/FAR Part 23/25/27/29)
  • Broad experience in preparing of certification documents
  • Fluent in English and basic German
